Short History

The Microdermabrasion system was designed by Mattioli Engineering, an Italian company. Based on innovative design and invaluable experience gained over 20 years, the system can offer therapy that works for everyone achieving a glowing look anytime.

The simple design of the machine has been specifically aimed at the therapist who is certified, and highly qualified to carry out a wide range of treatments on a routine basis in the clinic, both safely and effectively. This system is widely used in Europe and has recently received FDA clearance in the United States.

Clinical Background

Chemical peeling and manual dermabrasion are the traditional techniques for the treatments of a range of skin abnormalities. There are restrictions and difficulties associated with these common procedures since they can be painful and rapid retreatment is not always possible. Microdermabrasion is not painful and does not require pre-treatment or topical anesthesia.

The real benefit is that after treatment, you are able to leave the clinic with a clean and fresh sparkling tone: a regeneration of the epidermal cell structure.

Your safety is an important issue to both you and your therapist, therefore the entire treatment is performed in a sterile environment. All tools that contact the treatment area are either sterilizable or disposable.

About the Treatment

Microdermabrasion is used to treat the following types of conditions:
dull, congested, blemished, thickened, aging, acne, hypertrophic scars, broken capillaries (face), stretch marks, pigmentation/brown spots, seborrhea and minor skin conditions.

How is it done?

Microdermabrasion is performed with a jet of fine crystals, which is vacuumed across the skin’s surface, removing the dead and damaged skin cells.

Your therapist will advise you on the treatment and schedule most suitable for your particular skin condition, leaving you with blemish-free, smooth, soft, brighter and younger looking skin.

What to Expect After Various Treatment Levels

The skin may feel tight as if exposed to the sun or wind for a while after treatment. Some skins may peel. Keep the skin well moisturized with the proper products as advised by your therapist.

Deeper treatment level for more blemished or thicker skin.
The skin may appear slightly red and swollen from a few hours to a few days for more sensitive skins. Some skins may peel.

Deep treatment for scar tissue and stretch marks.
The skin will look red and may swell. Slight blood spotting may occur immediately after treatment and healing time may take three to four days or longer. It is worthwhile waiting for the results
